Blessings and a crazy Utah Holiday

Image
I ts pioneer day in Utah and I never knew that existed until I came to Utah. People here celebrate it like its the 4th of July, with fireworks, barbecue and celebrations. This morning we went to a Pioneer day breakfast and the primary kids did a little parade and it was cool. Some of them had their pioneer outfits and that reminded me of trek. After Trek I remember being forever grateful for flushing toilets, food, cars, air conditioner , beds,  parfaits.............. I can go on forever with the list. I am happy that my siblings went and they probably learned a lot which makes me a lot happy. My brother said "it changed my life "  I laugh a little when I read it and I was amazed and surprised at the same time. My sister bore her testimony about trek also, they are growing so fast.  I am happy that they are having all those experiences.  This past week had a lot of ups and down it started with a lot of excitement. One of the Highlights was defin...

3 months already! Miracles, Miracles, Miracles.

The weeks are flying by so quickly I can't believe I have been out for 3 months already. We give a lot of tours at the Visitor center, but also we have an area where we serve the other half of the day. My mission is awesome. We get the best of both worlds, people come to us from all over the world and we also go find people to teach. Another cool thing is that we get to serve in the historic homes in st. George Like the Brigham Young and Jacob Hamblins  home. Well this Week My companion and I were serving at Jacob Hamblins home.  A little background,  Jacob Hamblin, he was a missionary for 32 years, and he was a peacemaker between the Indians and Mormon pioneers back then. In total there were about 30 children in his home and he had a couple of wives.  We give tours of the house and get an opportunity to bear our testimonies to every tour we give. Which is awesome and we usually get a lot of members and a few people from all over.  Yesterday we ga...

Fireworks!

This week felt like it was long but it was awesome. We watched fireworks in front of the visitor center and  it was neat. We stayed out until  10:15pm  to watch it which was pretty nice. Here in utah people kinda go crazy with the Fourth of July, so there were alot  of fireworks. Earlier that morning we went to a breakfast in front of a grocery store called Lin's. We had breakfast and we talked to a lot of people, trying to find a new investigator. Also another thing the perairas, gave me and my companion Fourth of July presents. After having a fun Fourth of July I can't wait to see what pioneer day will be like. [ July 24th, the day the pioneers entered Salt Lake City ]  We had two awesome lessons we this week. The first lesson we taught was at the visitor center we invited this family called the the R's. They are an amazing family. We have taught their mom two lessons and she's been going to church regularly with her children but the husban...

Week 6 - 20 minute talk without reading notes!

I will like to start with this scripture in 1 Corinthians 2:4-5 4  And  my  speech  and  my  preaching  was  not  with  enticing  words  of  man’s  wisdom,  but  in  demonstration  of  the  Spirit  and  of  power : 5  That  your  faith  should  not  stand  in  the  wisdom  of  men,  but  in  the  power  of  God. Let us remember who we should put our trust in, because sometimes it is hard to remember.  Well this week flew by so quick and transfers are next week. Luckily for me I am staying with my companion, I love sister Sanders. We have a lot of fun knocking on door in 115 degrees weather. Honestly I feel like if we didn't have fun doing it, it will be very miserable. Well for the past 4 weeks it was really hard trying to find people to teach. We felt really ...

One Month and a Baptism

Image
Well This Tuesday Marks  my one month mark on my mission. Wow I can't believe it's been a month already. Something exciting that happened this week is a baptism of someone we all love at the visitor center.  Her name is Brittney, she is amazing, and so inspiring.  This is my first witness of a baptism on my mission. Awesome experience. In Utah you are either a Mormon, Jehovah Witness, or a Catholic . Everyone says they are good whenever you knock on a door. I gotta run but here are some pictures until next week
