Fireworks!
This week felt like it was long but it was awesome. We
watched fireworks in front of the visitor center and it was neat. We
stayed out until 10:15pm to watch it which was pretty nice. Here in
utah people kinda go crazy with the Fourth of July, so there were alot
of fireworks. Earlier that morning we went to a breakfast in front of a
grocery store called Lin's. We had breakfast and we talked to a lot of
people, trying to find a new investigator. Also another thing the
perairas, gave me and my companion Fourth of July presents. After having
a fun Fourth of July I can't wait to see what pioneer day will be like. [July 24th, the day the pioneers entered Salt Lake City]
We
had two awesome lessons we this week. The first lesson we taught was at
the visitor center we invited this family called the the R's.
They are an amazing family. We have taught their mom two lessons and
she's been going to church regularly with her children but the husband
has been out of town a lot. They are non members that moved from
Wyoming about a year ago and never had missionary lessons before.
So
this week we got a chance to give them a tour at the visitor center.
The mom and the dad were present and two of the three kids. We were so
excited and nervous but mostly excited because we love them so much and
we know that the gospel will bless their family tremendously. We taught
the tour, it was great but you never know, and we asked them to pray as a
family if they should all take lessons together, we are waiting to hear
from them this week. Another cool thing that happened also was that they went to church together this Sunday and there was a general
authority in their gospel principle class (only in Utah, you can get
that lucky). We wish we could have been there, but they told us that
church was great.
Another cool
lesson was This 14 year old kid name Anton they moved two years ago from
North Carolina to come to Utah. Anton is a smart kid and has a lot of
questions about the church which is awesome. His mom is Catholic but she
says he can make his own decision if we wants to be baptized. OOh this
brings back memories of myself. When I was fourteen the missionaries
taught my family and life has been great since then. Our lesson with him
went great and the spirit was strongly there. We are so excited for our
next lesson with him. We also had an awesome fellow-shipper in the
lesson, his name was Isaiah and his only 13, it is amazing how kids in
the church know so much about the gospel. I was very impressed by how
this 13 year old kid explain things.
until next time I weill like to end with
“Souls
are as precious in the sight of God as they ever were; and the Elders
[are] … to persuade and invite all men everywhere to repent, that they
may become the heirs of salvation.”- Joseph Smith.
This week we week is transfer and this are a few pictures from our last district meeting.
[Ran into a permission issue for pictures, will hopefully update with pictures soon]
