I am staying 6 more weeks with Elder T

Probably the most exciting thing that happened was we went on exchanges with the other Samoan companionship and so of course we ended up having a full conversation with someone in Spanish, he was from Texas and grew up around a lot of Spanish, so we were able to introduce ourselves and ask if it would be alright for missionaries that could speak Spanish better could come by so that was cool.

Saturday and Sunday were also super eventful, we started off by being invited to a buffet over in Redlands by our Bishop because is daughter went to the temple in preparation for leaving on her mission on Halloween. Since we had a lesson later that evening with him over in Highlands which is even further outside the zone, we were able to go. The Samoans don't like change and a less active member and a friend we are teaching live over in highland but don't want to go to the Samoan ward that usually covers that area. So we went to that lesson and the person we are teaching said that she was going to move to Oregon to get her and her husband away from our church, then the spirit specifically told her to stay and get baptized, and so that is what she is doing, which is super cool.

Then the Colton Ward had the Second counselor in the General Young Men's presidency come, the one who spoke at General conference last week, so it was cool to see him and listen to him again, he told about a story how he was wrangling cattle with his parents and how his mom got thrown off her horse into what one would expect in a cow field, he connected that to honoring our mothers so that was pretty good.

Then the friend we are teaching got interviewed and then had to be interviewed by the mission president who is super busy because we have transfers this week, and we got an extra 11 missionaries waiting to get there visas. But he was actually passing by from Fontana and so he was able to meet with them that day.


It is cool to see the small miracles that happen out here, have a great week!

Week 2 - Praying and be a good boy, be a good girl!

Every morning begins with a prayer, every lesson, meal, role play, in general everything begins and ends with a prayer here. I guess that is part of the reason why you can feel the spirit strongly here at the MTC. My roommates are all from around the world. There is Sister P from Ukraine, she is very stylish and likes working out with me at 6am. My companion Sister J is from the Marshall Islands, she is so funny and she is the most interesting person I have ever met. The other girl in the room is Sister Y and she's from Yap which is found next to Guam, which is next to Marshall Island which is next to Hawaii.  She is very sweet and she is always smiling. In my district we have a Sister called Sister K and she's from india she cracks me up and she always tells us jokes. What I love about the MTC so far is that you meet a lot of people from all over the world and everyone has one goal.  Which is invite others to come unto Christ by helping them receive the restore...

First week in the Field!

Best of both worlds.  First week out in the field. Well my companion is Sister S she is from a small town called Burns Oregon.  She's very cute and kind, she is the best trainer I could possibly ask for. It has been great with lots of sunshine. The sun is too much for me it gets to like 100 and something degrees and I feel like I am in an oven. The area where I am proselyting is called Santa Clara Heights and it is beautiful and the houses looks like it is from the movies. We are in charge of the Whole stake so it is kind of hard to go to all the sacrament meetings and we also get to do the visitor center half of the day so we only get to knock on door for  a couple of hours. Well we get the best of both world in a sense that people come to us in the visitor center and we go look for people also. It has been hard so far but Heavenly Father has been providing for us.  I had to bear my testimony so many times and attend a lot of sacrament meeting and meeting ...

Baptisms by Dad

Wow, How time flies, Tranfers are today and my companion  and I are staying together. Its been six weeks already that we have been together, wow went too fast. Sister D is an awesome missionary and it is a lot of fun training. The part I enjoy the most about training is doing 12 weeks again [ training program for new missionaries I think ], there is so much to learn. The week has been Glorious, it ended with 3 baptisms that  took place saturday the 30th of September. I can't believe it is already October. But it was one of the best Baptism that I have ever attended. The Dad Tommie Got baptised and then confirmed and then ordained and then baptised his wife Rachel and then baptised their daughter Chiara. It was one of the happiest days on my mission. It's a blessing to see a family come closer to the Savior.
