Week 2 - Praying and be a good boy, be a good girl!

Every morning begins with a prayer, every lesson, meal, role play, in general everything begins and ends with a prayer here. I guess that is part of the reason why you can feel the spirit strongly here at the MTC. My roommates are all from around the world. There is Sister P from Ukraine, she is very stylish and likes working out with me at 6am. My companion Sister J is from the Marshall Islands, she is so funny and she is the most interesting person I have ever met. The other girl in the room is Sister Y and she's from Yap which is found next to Guam, which is next to Marshall Island which is next to Hawaii.  She is very sweet and she is always smiling. In my district we have a Sister called Sister K and she's from india she cracks me up and she always tells us jokes.

What I love about the MTC so far is that you meet a lot of people from all over the world and everyone has one goal.  Which is invite others to come unto Christ by helping them receive the restored gospel Through faith in Jesus Christ and his atonement.

Although they keep us very busy in here, the time flies by very quickly and you always have something to do. You can't move a muscle without your companion, which is very hard especially when your companion likes  moving every 30 seconds. I have 4 investigators that I am teaching and one of them loves me and my companion so much that we became her adopted grandchildren.

One of the most important thing when teaching is to remember to teach with the Holy Spirit and help the investigator to feel and recognize the Spirit. Being here for only a week and a couple of days I would like to say Missions are worthwhile. They are worth the money, time and effort because when you start seeing the small changes in the life of people your teaching you realize that everything your doing is worthwhile. The one thing i will leave with is from Elder Bednar BE A GOOD BOY, BE A GOOD GIRL.

[A summary of the talk can be found here - with the quote being:  Elder Bednar gave at the MTC a few years ago in which he said the most common question in the Church is "How can I tell when I'm being prompted by the Spirit?" His answer to the missionaries was: "Quit worrying about it. Quit fussing with it. Quit analyzing it. You be a good boy, you be a good girl, you honor your covenants, you keep the commandments; and I promise you in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ that as you press forward with faith in Christ, your footsteps will be guided. As you open your mouth, it will be filled, and you will be where you need to be, and most of the time, you will not even have any idea how you got there."]

Being a good girl has helped to see and teach with the prompting of the spirit.

Until next time Adios
